Andreas Seibert

Andreas Seibert was born in Switzerland in 1970.

He studied German literature and philosophy at the University of Zurich from 1990 to 1992, and photography at the Zurich University of the Arts from 1992 to 1997.

Andreas Seibert has been a freelance photographer since 1997.

In late 1997 he moved to Tokyo, since 2013 he and his family are back in Switzerland.

Since 2002 he has been documenting China's rapid economic development. His projects explore the unbound forces of globalization to which people are exposed.

His work has appeared internationally in leading magazines and has been exhibited worldwide.

In 2009 Andreas Seibert's first book "From Somewhere to Nowhere: China's Internal Migrants" was short-listed for the prestigious Best Photography Book award.
